Glenorchy Knights opened their qualifying campaign in fine fashion, with a 5-0 win over Taroona FC followed by a 7-0 victory against South East United FC to take them into Preliminary Round Seven.
In the Lakoseljac Cup Final against Kingborough Lions, doubling as the qualification playoff, Glenorchy were 2-1 down with full-time approaching, but a stoppage-time goal from Joshua Redfearn took the match to extra time.
In the 109th minute, Stefan Cordwell’s second goal of the game gave the Knights a storied victory, as they secured their place in the Australia Cup Final Rounds for the first time in their history.
Besides the historic Tasmanian cup, their reward is a trip to "the Arctic Circle" at Christie Park to take on NWS Spirit FC.
