Form guide: FFA Cup Finalists back to winning ways ahead of Tuesday night

Confidence is high in both camps ahead of Tuesday’s Westfield FFA Cup Final with both finalists racking up impressive wins in the Hyundai A-League leading into the final.

Sydney FC 2 Newcastle Jets 1, Round 7, Saturday night

The Sky Blues reaffirmed their place as the Hyundai A-League's team to beat with a 2-1 win over Newcastle Jets at a sodden Allianz Stadium on Saturday night.

Milos Ninkovic and Bobo scored either side of the break to reclaim top spot from the previously unbeaten Jets.

Sydney's second had come via a Jack Duncan blunder while the Sky Blues were hampered by a goalkeeping error of their own as Andrew Redmayne was bamboozled by Dimitri Petratos' swerving long-range shot on the wet pitch.

The goal mattered little, though, with the hosts holding on and climbing two points clear at the summit in Alex Brosque's 200th appearance.

An early start to the round on Thursday night, and it was a dramatic finish as Ryan Kitto volleyed in a 93rd minute winner to give United a dramatic 2-1 victoryin Gosford.

The winger fired through a crowded penalty area to seal the come-from-behind win and end the Reds' three-match losing run.

Daniel Adlung had sparked the fightback just prior to the hour when his thunderbolt from outside the area cancelled out Wout Brama's penalty.
