  • Two member federation teams (Oakleigh Cannons FC, Sydney United 58 FC) have qualified for the semi finals of the Australia Cup for the first time in the history of the competition.
  • Sydney United 58 FC are the sixth member federation team to qualify for the semi finals of the Australia Cup and the first from New South Wales.
  • Oakleigh Cannons FC are the seventh different member federation team to qualify for the semi finals of the Australia Cup and the fourth from Victoria (Bentleigh Greens SC – 2018, 2014; Hume City FC – 2015; South Melbourne FC – 2017).

 

  • Sydney FC had 71% of possession against Oakleigh Cannons FC in the quarter finals of the 2022 Australia Cup, the second highest rate of any team in a game in this campaign and the highest of any team in a loss.
  • Sydney FC made 59 penalty area entries against Oakleigh Cannons FC in the quarter finals of the 2022 Australia Cup; since the beginning of the 2021 tournament only one A-League Men team has made more in a game (Macarthur FC – 63 v Newcastle Olympic, 13 November 2021).
  • Andrew Redmayne (Sydney FC) featured in his sixth quarter final in the Australia Cup, equaling Scott Jamieson for the joint-most appearances at this stage of the tournament.
  • Brisbane Roar FC had a 93% tackle success rate from their 15 tackles against Adelaide United in the quarter finals of the 2022 Australia Cup – the second best rate of any team in a game (min. 6 tackles) since the beginning of the 2021 tournament (NWS Spirit FC – 95% v Peninsula Power, 3 August 2022).

 

  • Jay O’Shea (Brisbane Roar FC) created four scoring chances from set plays against Adelaide United in the quarter finals of the 2022 Australia Cup – the joint-most by any player in a game since the beginning of the 2021 tournament (also Jake Brimmer – 4 for Melbourne Victory v Central Coast Mariners, 5 February 2022 and Fraser Hills – 4 for Brisbane City v Cockburn City, 27 July 2022).
  • Aryn Williams (Oakleigh Cannons FC) blocked four shots against Sydney FC in the quarter finals of the 2022 Australia Cup; only one player has logged more in a game since the beginning of the 2021 tournament (Luke Rutledge – 5 for Newcastle Olympic v Macarthur FC, 13 November 2021).
